The story behind Floe: A few years ago James needed a low-profile bookcase to fit under a pair of tall windows. He wanted to use as little material as possible for the upright members, while still providing strength, and realized this meant orienting the vertical pieces at 90 degrees to each other. And minimizing material meant that the vertical pieces would be narrower at the top and bottom and fatter in the middle. It turns out that the visual result of these engineering constraints is pleasing to the eye. That first bookcase needed to be so short that there was no room for legs. These got added in later iterations. White Glove Delivery: White glove means that the item is individually blanket wrapped, delivered to your home, and assembled if necessary. Our white glove shippers are independent contractors who create their own delivery schedules, with some destinations more frequently scheduled than others. While customers are not able to pick a day and time for delivery, we will try to accommodate your schedule. Someone must be present to receive the delivery.
