16x20 print on Hahnemühle FineArt Pearl 285g/m paper. Part of a series of floral image photographed in a studio environment Floral #048 features the Red Pineapple (Ananas bracteatu s) — an ornamental plant native to the tropical regions of South America, specifically Brazil and Paraguay, though now widely grown in warm climates like Florida. Studio photography against a clean white background emphasizes the plant’s intense magenta color saturation and sharp, spiny bracts, transforming this miniature fruit-like bloom into a sculptural study of bold botanical form and organic symmetry. This image was selected for publication in Flora, a Graphis anthology celebrating botanical photography, in 2002. Show more
