20x24 print on Hahnemühle FineArt Pearl 285g/m paper. Part of a series of floral image photographed in a studio environment Floral #602 features the Hanging Lobster Claw (Heliconia rostrata) — a pendulous tropical plant native to Bolivia, Peru, and Colombia, known for its dramatic, claw-like bracts. This vibrant, high-contrast botanical study heightens the intense reds and neon yellows against deep, dark shadows, giving the hanging clusters a heavy, three-dimensional, almost waxy appearance. Vertical lines of background foliage create a rhythmic contrast against the curved forms of the flowers, while the frame-filling composition transforms the plant into an abstract pattern of repeating shapes and textures.
