Blue White Flowmeter for 2" Pipe - #F30200P Features and Benefits: GPM Flow Range: 20 to 120 Well suited for closed pipe installations Easy to read dual scale (GPM / LPM), screen printed on both sides of the meter body Pitot Tube (impact tube) design makes it easy to install on existing pipe Acceptable for outdoor installations One piece, machined acrylic meter body, annealed for added strength and chemical resistance Works with Schedule 40 and 80 PVC. Installation Guidance Where should I place the F-300 flowmeter along my plumbing system? Blue-White specifically recommends installing the F-300 downstream from the filter to prevent debris from entering the meter. Putting it before the heater is also good — it stays in cooler water, and you avoid any turbulence the heater might add. What kind of pressure can this F-300 flowmeter tolerate? The F-300 (horizontal model like the F-30150P) is rated for 50 PSI maximum working pressure at 70°F. That should be within range for most residential pools, unless it's a commercial application. Check your filter pressure gauge to ensure your system is within tolerances. What amount of straight-pipe length do I need before and after the flowmeter to ensure an accurate read? Per Blue-White's current installation guidance, the distance required for accuracy is 5 times the nominal pipe diameter before the meter and 2 times the nominal pipe diameter after the meter. Thus for 2" pipe that works out to: Upstream (before): ~10 inches minimum of straight pipe Downstream (after): ~4 inches minimum of straight pipe Are there other important things I should be aware of for installing this flowmeter? Yes, there are several that include: Must be mounted on a horizontal pipe run with the meter at the 12 o'clock (top) position. Pipe must run completely full of water at all times. It's calibrated for Sch 40 or Sch 80 PVC only — mounting on other pipe sizes may cause pitot tube interference or inaccurate readings. Flow direction matters — the pitot tube has to face into the flow (there's an arrow on the meter).
