Putting it before the heater is also good — it stays in cooler water, and you avoid any turbulence the heater might add. What kind of pressure can this F-300 flowmeter tolerate? The F-300 (horizontal model like the F-30150P) is rated for 50 PSI maximum working pressure at 70°F. That should be within range for most residential pools, unless it's a commercial application. Check your filter pressure gauge to ensure your system is within tolerances. What amount of straight-pipe length do I need before and after the flowmeter to ensure an accurate read? Per Blue-White's current installation guidance, the distance required for accuracy is 5 times the nominal pipe diameter before the meter and 2 times the nominal pipe diameter after the meter. Yes, there are several that include: Must be mounted on a horizontal pipe run with the meter at the 12 o'clock (top) position. Pipe must run completely full of water at all times. It's calibrated for Sch 40 or Sch 80 PVC only — mounting on other pipe sizes may cause pitot tube interference or inaccurate readings.
