This Neoclassical vase shape is modeled after the Ancient Greek vessel for mixing wine and water, called a calyx-krater. I've been making this shape for a couple of years, and alth ough it's complicated, it's one of my favorites to make. The top and the base are thrown separately and then joined together when leather hard. These are smaller versions of the larger pots listed in my shop.
