This fine individual miniature-sized Fluorite crystal comes from an important, but less often seen French locality in Provence in the south of France. The L'Avellan mine operated f rom 1938 to 1971, producing fluorspar, but compared with other French fluorspar mines very few crystal specimens were preserved. Despite being a relatively small specimen the quality of this individual crystal is exceptional of the locality. Glassy and with good transparency, the cream-coloured crystal is actually a group of parallel crystals all with exceptionally sharp edges.
