The banding is growth zoning, layer after layer with different trace elements. Care Fluorite is soft and cleaves easily, so keep it apart from harder stones and do not drop it. Keep it out of prolonged direct sun — the purples fade. Do not soak it, and never use it in water you drink. Cleanse it with sage or moonlight.
