Although north Africa is well-known for Fluorite, very few specimens reach collector quality for their aesthetic appearance. This smaller display specimen from Taourit in Morocco is particularly attractive, presenting sharply formed cubic purple crystals of Fluorite, individually measuring to 1.6 cm on edge, all in excellent condition and showing lovely darker edges. One crystal is particularly fascinating, forming a 'T'-shape. Their purple colour contrasts nicely with the rough-textured white Baryte matrix and their somewhat stepped intergrowth provides a fine display. Never super glassy, the purple Fluorite crystals have a good translucency, which provides a rich, bright colour with directional lighting. Ex Günter Ertle Collection (no. 938), this is a high quality smaller Fluorite from Morocco.
