For tanks with messy fish, higher stocking levels, or larger water volume, a quality canister filter can make a major difference in water clarity and stability. The FX2 helps support clear water, strong circulation, and a healthier aquarium environment when properly maintained. Maintenance Tips Rinse mechanical filter media regularly using dechlorinated water or aquarium water. Replace chemical media as needed based on water clarity and aquarium conditions. Avoid replacing all biological media at once to preserve beneficial bacteria. Check hoses, intake strainers, and output nozzles for debris or reduced flow. Clean the filter more often on heavily stocked tanks or aquariums with messy fish. Perform routine water changes along with filter maintenance for best results.
