Fly Line Backing — Braided Strength for When Your Catch Has Other Ideas Think of this as the unsung hero of your fly setup: tough, simple, and quietly confident. The Standard Braided Fly Line Backing gives your reel the muscle it needs when a trout decides it’s auditioning for the Olympics. Perfect for anglers who like their gear honest, reliable, and a little bit badass — AXG Life, Life, Adventure-Ready. Key Features & Design Material: Standard braided construction for consistent strength and manageable knot performance. Tensile Options: Available in 20 lb or 30 lb breaking strength to match your target species and confidence level. Spool Lengths: Choose 100 yd or 200 yd spools — because sometimes the one that got away needs room to run. Colors: Orange, White, or Yellow — pick the color that pairs best with your reel, ego, or camouflage needs. Performance & Benefits This backing keeps your fly line snug on the reel while giving you extra stopping power when a fish tests your patience (and your drag). The braided construction offers reliable knot-holding and smooth payout, so you get fewer tangles and more time actually fishing. Whether you’re targeting stocked rainbows or a feisty river resident, the 20 lb and 30 lb options let you tailor breaking strength to the job. The longer 200 yd spools are perfect for saltwater or big-river runs where distance matters; the 100 yd spool keeps your setup compact and tidy for smaller streams. In short: it adds the quiet confidence to your reel that makes bad decisions on the water feel slightly less regrettable. Built for early mornings, late sunsets, and questionable tactics in between. Ready to level up? Add to cart and give your reel the backbone it’s been hinting about. Toss it in your gear bag and make better campfire stories.
