In 1932 The Associated Oil Company launched a brand of premium grade gasoline called Flying A. Associated Oil had been serving Hawaii since the early 1900's so it did not take long for the Flying A brand to begin appearing in Hawaii after the brand launched. After WWII, there was a boom in Hawaiian gas and service stations, with Flying A being one of the most common brands on The Islands. The classic Flying A logo could be seen at locations such as Nobu's Service Station on Kalakaua Ave in Honolulu.
