Flying Lotus' first release on Brainfeeder will be a frenetic EP, which has been described as bombastic, esoteric and completely unique. Flying Lotus first gained recognition with his 2006 debut 1983, but it was Los Angeles (2008) and Cosmogramma (2010) that firmly established him as a pioneer in the LA beat scene. Cosmogramma blended jazz improvisation with cosmic textures, and is rightly regarded as one of the greatest electronic albums of all time. Subsequent albums like Until the Quiet Comes (2012) and You’re Dead! (2014) showcased his growing ambition.
