This gear fits 1098 engines. This ring gear has an inside diameter of 9-1/4". Please check the mounting boss for your flywheel to ensure this is the correct ring gear for your appl ication! If you have the transmission off the engine, now is the time to inspect your ring gear. The starter motor engages the ring gear on the flywheel in order to turn over the engine. Over time, the teeth can wear down, chip or even break. If you need to replace the ring gear, heat the flywheel with a torch to be remove it. If you are removing the flywheel, you will need a lock tab kit, and flywheel bolts. Installation note: If installing this yourself, keep in mind that proper alignment on the flywheel is critical!
