Installation & safety Disconnect power before servicing. Access the FM‑2000 through the front service door (filters/louver are removable for service). Do not use with a solid‑state speed control; operate with the factory 2‑speed switch/remote only. After replacement, verify rotation and airflow on LOW, then HIGH. If wiring or capacitor value is unclear, contact a licensed electrician/HVAC tech. (Capacitor value must match the motor.) FAQs Will this fit older “20.0” units? This kit is designed for the FM‑2000 / FlushMount2000. Some older “20.0” generations may differ—please contact us to confirm fit before ordering. Do I need a new capacitor when replacing the motor?Yes. Use the matched capacitor included with this motor for proper starting torque and reliability. Mixing parts can shorten motor life. What symptoms point to a failing motor or capacitor?Humming without starting, intermittent starts, overheated motor housing, tripped breaker, or reduced airflow on both speeds. (If the unit is noisy but airflow is normal, check filters first.) Any special setup steps after installation?Run the unit on HIGH briefly to confirm rotation and air draw, then return to normal use. Keep filters maintained per the FM‑2000 guide: prefilters ~monthly, carbon ~every 2 months, HEPA annually.
