The Facegenics Midface Expander (FME) is a mini-implant assisted rapid palatal expander. The device provides palate expansion force with the aid of temporary anchorage devices (TADs) and is removed after treatment. All components of the Midface Expander are made of alloyed titanium (ASTM F-136). The Activation Instrument is made from medical stainless steel. Every Midface Expander order comes with a patient-specific 3D printed insertion guide, based on each patient's unique palatal anatomy. Indications for Use Midface Expander is intended for rapid palatal expansion in patients with transverse maxillary deficiency. Palatelock® Anchorage Devices are intended for use as a temporary anchor for orthodontic treatment. Palatelock® Dimensions Palatelock® is is designed for bicortical orthodontic anchorage in the paramedian sutural-adjacent posterior palate location at the level of the first maxillary molars. The screw contains a head with an enhanced hexalobular internal driving feature for improved torque transmission, external locking threads for stability, a smooth neck for transmucosal conditions, and a self-drilling threaded body. The screw has an anodized titanium finish, with the color indicating different screw lengths. The dimensions are as follows: Model Total Length Diameter Color PL011 11.5mm 1.8mm Green PL013 13.5mm 1.8mm Blue Expander Module Dimensions With an insertion guide facilitating placement, two Anchor Bodies are secured in the palate with the Palatelock Anchorage Devices. Four Retaining Screws mount the Expander Module to the Anchor Bodies in the palate.
