This is the foam where the HVAC box mounts to the cab/firewall of a 1997-2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ. This keeps air & wind from entering the cab while driving down the road. If you ever notice the passenger side will always have a cold draft coming in, due to this aged foam. If you plan on having this HVAC box out for any reason in the future, I would have one of these kits laying around so you don't get in a rush and put it back together without new sealing foam!
