Leisure Time Foam Down is a concentrated non-oil-based foam suppressant formulated specifically for spas and hot tubs. Active chemistry: a proprietary blend of non-oily anti-foaming agents that collapse existing foam on contact and help prevent immediate re-foaming. The "non-oil" detail matters — cheaper general-purpose defoamers use oil-based silicones that knock down foam but then leave a thin oil film on the water surface and filter, which often makes the foam problem worse over the next few uses. Foam in a hot tub isn't normal — and it's not the same thing as bubbles. Bubbles from jet aeration are clear, large, and disappear within seconds of surfacing.
