These foam discs are supported by a durable ABS plastic base. They simply slide over the stem of 99% of vices (if you got a tapered or square stem, these will not suit) to secure y our flies as you tie. The fly stands come with a rubber grommet that you simply use to control the height should they turn out to be a loose fit.
