100 ICW8-T 2-way coaxial speaker 100 ICW8-T is a wall and ceiling loudspeaker designed for large public spaces (hotels, restaurants, shops...). Its 21 cm driver features Polyglass technology for a natural, rich sound, and its low directivity eliminates the "shower effect" of sound for a homogeneous musicality in the space. Like all products in the 100-T Series line, it incorporates an adjustable transformer to adapt its power to 70/100 volt installations. VAST SPACES An adjustable transformer adapts the loudspeaker's power output, allowing it to be daisy-chained to other loudspeakers in an installation. Clarity and vocal intelligibility are guaranteed in large listening spaces, while minimizing the number of amplification channels. 100-T SERIES, THE SOUND OF OPEN SPACES FOCAL KNOW-HOW The Polyglass diaphragm of the 21 cm loudspeaker delivers a natural, uncolored midrange and rich bass. It is combined with an aluminum inverted dome tweeter for silky treble and optimum sound dispersion. COMPACT AND DISCREET Compactness and shallow integration depth are the hallmarks of these In-ceiling loudspeakers. Discreet and easy to install, they come with optimized grip mounting brackets and ready-to-paint round or square grilles. TECHNOLOGIES INVERTED DOME TWEETER Optimum space dispersion The inverted dome tweeter has been a Focal signature since 1981, offering the property of being a true micro-speaker. The curvature of the dome is much less pronounced than that of positive domes. This results in better space dispersion and very low directionality, unlike ribbon tweeters. The inverted dome tweeter therefore generates unrivalled dynamics, enabling sound engineers to precisely control the dosage of compression. The precision of the image (height, width and depth) is remarkable, making it easy to position each instrument. What's more, a waveguide has been developed to perfect spatialization and further enhance the inverted dome's very low directionality. In the horizontal plane, the frequency response is within +/- 0.5 dB. This performance guarantees an incredibly stable soundstage. POLYGLASS MEMBRANE Well-defined mids The diaphragm, the key component of a loudspeaker, is at the heart of our acoustic engineers' research. Polyglass technology, exclusive to Focal, consists of applying fine glass microbeads to a cellulose pulp cone. This process reconciles the excellent damping of paper with the rigidity of glass. The stiffness index is almost 10 times that of polypropylene. Adjusting the mass-rigidity-damping ratio results in a remarkably linear frequency response curve, right from the membrane design stage. This innovation also significantly increases definition in the midrange register.
