The Focusrite Red 8Line is a 58-input, 64-output Thunderbolt 3 audio interface that connects simultaneously to Pro Tools | HD, Thunderbolt DAWs, and Dante audio networks. It combines two Red Evolution mic preamps, high-performance conversion, and flexible digital I/O in a single 1U rackmount chassis. Conversion and Preamps Red 8Line provides professional-grade 24-bit/192kHz A-D and D-A conversion with 119dB dynamic range on the A-D side and 121dB on the D-A side (A-weighted). The two digitally controlled Red Evolution mic preamps deliver up to 63dB of gain with individually switchable phantom power, high-pass filter, phase reverse, and Air mode, which recreates the sonic character of the classic ISA 110 transformer input. Multi-Host Workflow Switching between Pro Tools | HD and Thunderbolt host modes is handled directly from the front panel or through RedNet Control software, with no need to reconfigure option cards. Built-in Dante networking enables expansion across standard Ethernet infrastructure alongside any Dante-compatible equipment.
