Young and pretty, bright and handsome, our early-release charmer built for flavour and freshness. For us, that’s when Nebbiolo looks its most charming - dripping with sour cherries in layers of baking spice, showing off its signature dusty grip. In a crusade to see Nebbiolo flourish outside its native Italian north, this cuts through our quizzical fog like a sunbeam. With a uniquely Australian slant, the world’s most elusive and captivating varietal (our king of grapes) was hidden in plain sight in the Adelaide Hills. 2021 sees us seeking out the high-toned primary flavour, pressing off a month earlier than ever to a giant wooden cask for 5 months. It encapsulates spring blossoms with a dusting of warm spice. All the flavours before the leather of summer creeps in. Show more
