Formed in the 199 0s, Foo Fighters was initially simply a creative outlet for Grohl after the breakup of his first band, Nirvana. After Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain’s death, Grohl made the decision to switch roles from drummer to frontman. The result was Foo Fighters’ self-titled debut in 1995, which cemented the band in rock history.
