Some evidence suggests that the flavonoids of chrysin and benzoflavone may be the primary flavonoids at work in Passion Flower and are the specific flavonoids responsible for decreasing anxiety and reducing panic, as well as helping with better relaxation. To appreciate how magnesium helps calm horses, it's important to understand what occurs in a horse's body on a cellular level when it has a magnesium deficiency. Calcium and magnesium work in tandem with one another. Though calcium requires magnesium for proper assimilation, magnesium does not require calcium. Calcium's role is to manage muscle contraction while magnesium manages muscle relaxation or release.
