They were planted in the 1930's as a softwood logging experiment, and never chopped down. They are down a gravel road, about 30 km from the nearest town of Apollo Bay, and make a fantastic picnic spot. The National Park was recently expanded to include this stand of tree's, the first time it's ever happened for an introduced species. The sun was filtering through these amazing tree's, I quickly set up the camera and tripod and shot this beautiful scene of the moss covered Giant Redwoods on the banks of the Aire river.
