A large painterly woodland scene, built with loose, confident brushwork and a warm, earthy palette of greens, ochres and soft reds. A slender tree anchors the foreground, with foliage opening into a lighter clearing beyond, giving the composition a natural sense of depth. The softened forms and balanced tones make it an easy piece to place — adding colour and texture without overwhelming a space. Its vertical format works well above a console or between windows, where it brings a gentle sense of landscape indoors. A quietly atmospheric work with a relaxed, decorative quality. Oil on canvas, signed in monogram by artist Peter Nicolaisen (Denmark, 1894-1989). Dimensions 86x67cm framed. Condition: a paint chip as shown in the last photo. It blends into the colours of the painting and so actually took me a few days to spot it. I have reduced the price to reflect this.
