This design was developed in collaboration with a special operations military unit who put out a requirement for a minimalist battery pack retainer that was NIR compliant, offered 360 degree retention, and could easily integrate with counterweights. A: No, the Night Vision Battery Pack comes with two mounting tabs that can attach to any screw type on a helmet (strap screws, rails, etc). The shock cord can also be threaded through rail systems, or other mounting tabs (e.g. ones on a counterweight). We also include adhesive backed hook & loop with every order so that if your battery pack doesn't have any or if your helmet needs it as well you have everything you need.
