In Form Study II, Antoinette Ferwerda explores the relationship between form, volume and atmosphere through layered abstraction. Inspired by the principles of a form study, the wor k investigates how mass, depth and structure can be conveyed through colour, texture and movement rather than literal representation. Luminous veils of blue, green and soft iridescent tones drift across a darkened ground, creating a sense of emergence and spatial tension. This work can be displayed as a complementary piece to Form Study I, extending the visual conversation between the two paintings.
