Handmade to order and finished to a high polish, its rounded surface transforms solid metal into something that appears inflated, soft, and almost weightless.The initial inspiration came from Kathleen Ryan’s Bacchante and the contrast created by a red half-dome surrounded by clustered, grape-like forms. That relationship became the starting point for a ring exploring softness, weight, and interruption.Rather than placing the ruby above a conventional smooth band, the gemstone enters an already active surface. It interrupts the arrangement of rounded silver forms, while the surrounding forms compete for attention in return.
