Formalin, Neutral Buffered (NBF), 10% Solution, 1 GallonSuitable f or routine tissue fixation, long-term specimen storage and diagnostic pathology, 10% NBF penetrates tissue rapidly while producing excellent preservation of cellular architecture for paraffin embedding, sectioning and staining. It is compatible with most routine histological stains, including haematoxylin and eosin (H&E), and is commonly used in medical laboratories, veterinary clinics, universities, fisheries laboratories and research institutions. A phosphate-buffered solution, it preserves tissue morphology by stabilising cellular proteins while maintaining a near-neutral pH of 6.8–7.2. The buffering system helps prevent the formation of acid formaldehyde haematin pigments that can occur with unbuffered formalin, resulting in superior preservation and improved microscopic examination.
