We became sick and tired of watching our lifters trip over or step over squat stand base frames when walking out or racking the barbell. The base frame of typical squat stands available on the market are all made this way, so we went ahead and made our own. We modified our squat stands, such that one of the inside ends of the base frames on each one was cut shorter. This allows the lifter to step and move freely when walking out and racking heavy weight without worrying about tripping over the frame. A simple modification, but this has made all the difference in regard to safety and concentration when lifting.
