Shark teeth are a symbol of strength, intelligence and perseverance. The modern mako measures approximately 10 feet in length and swims up 42 miles per hour making it the fastest s hark in the ocean. The word mako comes the Māori language and means either a shark tooth or the shark. This tooth has a nice contrast from the deep brown root to the lighter, mottled crown. This striking fossil mako tooth pendant measures approximately 1 5/8” from root to tip on the longest edge, by just over 1” wide at the root. Bale is made from heavy gauge gold fill hard wire.
