Four Loko Mango 24OZ is a flavored malt beverage with 12% ABV in a 24oz can, known for its bold, sweet tropical mango flavor. Produced by Phusion Projects out of Chicago, Illinois, this expression has become one of the brand's most recognizable offerings within its extensive fruit-flavored lineup.Quick Facts: ABV: 12% | Origin: Chicago, Illinois, USA | Style: Flavored Malt Beverage | Producer: Phusion Projects (Drink Four Brewing Company)Production & HeritagePhusion Projects, operating as Drink Four Brewing Company, launched Four Loko as a caffeinated malt beverage. After the reformulation in 2010 that removed caffeine, guarana, and taurine, the brand pivoted to focus on high-ABV flavored malt beverages. Four Loko Mango starts with a fermented malt base derived from malted barley — the same foundation as traditional malt liquor — and is then blended with carbonated water, sugar, and natural and artificial mango flavoring. The result is a single-serve, high-strength flavored malt beverage that sits in a distinct category between craft beer and ready-to-drink cocktails.Tasting NotesAroma: Pronounced tropical mango dominates the nose immediately upon opening. Behind the fruit, there is a noticeable sweetness with faint malt undertones common to the category.Taste: The first sip delivers an intense burst of mango with heavy sweetness on the entry. Mid-palate, the malt base becomes more apparent beneath the artificial tropical fruit character. The sugar content is significant, giving the liquid a dense, syrupy body that carries through to the back of the palate.Finish: The finish is moderately long with lingering mango sweetness and a warming alcohol presence that becomes more noticeable as the beverage warms. A slight malt dryness emerges at the very end, providing minimal counterbalance to the sugar. How to Drink Four Loko MangoFour Loko Mango is designed as a ready-to-drink beverage, best served ice-cold straight from the can. Given its 12% ABV and 24oz volume — equivalent to roughly four standard drinks — pacing is important. Some drinkers pour it over crushed ice in a tall glass to dilute sweetness and keep the temperature low. It can also serve as a base in a Mango Slushie blended with ice for a frozen drink. Mixed with fresh lime juice and soda water, it works in a loose riff on a Mango Paloma, where the carbonation and citrus cut through the sweetness. A splash added to a Tropical Punch Bowl alongside pineapple juice and coconut water stretches the intensity across a lighter, shared-serve format.Best For Casual outdoor gatherings like barbecues and tailgates where convenience matters Budget-conscious social occasions with a group splitting a variety of flavors Fans of sweet tropical beverages looking for higher-ABV alternatives to hard seltzers Trying alongside the full Four Loko flavor range for a side-by-side tasting Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat does Four Loko Mango taste like? The 12% ABV in a 24oz format delivers significant potency in one can, which has made it a fixture at convenience stores and college-town retailers nationwide. Mango remains one of the brand's top-selling flavors because the tropical sweetness pairs well with the malt base and does more to mask the alcohol than some of the brand's other expressions.
