Four Roses Yellow Label is the accessible entry into the brand's unique 10-recipe production system — a blend of all 10 Four Roses bourbon recipes (two mashbills crossed with five yeast strains) creating the most approachable and floral expression in the lineup, with hints of corn and vanilla, a combination of mint and spice, and a long, soft, mellow finish at 80 proof. The 10-recipe system is Four Roses' defining production distinction — where most bourbon producers use one or two mashbills and one yeast strain, Four Roses maintains ten distinct recipe combinations that each produce different flavor characters. The Yellow Label blends all 10 together, with each recipe contributing to a more complex final flavor than any single recipe alone achieves. The result emphasizes the floral and fruity qualities that the high-rye mashbill and certain yeast strains contribute, producing a bourbon that is unusually approachable and aromatic for a Kentucky straight bourbon. The go-to recommendation for anyone entering the Four Roses range for the first time.Tasting Notes Nose: Floral with hints of corn and vanilla from the blend of all 10 recipes Palate: Mint and spice in a simple, mellow, and approachable format Finish: Long, soft, and mellow — the accessible Four Roses signature Specs Distillery: Four Roses, Lawrenceburg, Kentucky Style: Blended Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Recipes: All 10 Four Roses bourbon recipes blended ABV: 40% (80 Proof) Size: 750ml Browse all bourbon at Wooden Cork.Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat are Four Roses' 10 bourbon recipes?Four Roses uses two mashbills — OBSB (high rye, 35% rye) and OBSK (low rye, 20% rye) — crossed with five proprietary yeast strains (V, K, O, Q, F), each producing different flavor character.
