Four Seasons Isabella is a Moldovan wine made from Isabella grapes, bottled at 750ml with an ABV typical of semi-sweet table wines. Produced in one of Eastern Europe's oldest winemaking regions, this expression highlights the distinctive character of the Isabella grape — a Vitis labrusca hybrid prized throughout Moldova for its intensely aromatic, berry-driven profile. Quick Facts: ABV: Approximately 10–12% (typical for style) | Origin: Moldova | Grape: Isabella (Vitis labrusca hybrid) | Style: Semi-Sweet Red Production & Heritage Moldova sits between Romania and Ukraine and ranks among the world's most vine-dense countries relative to its size, with a winemaking tradition stretching back thousands of years. The Isabella grape thrives in Moldova's continental climate, where warm summers and well-drained soils encourage full aromatic development. Four Seasons Isabella draws on this regional strength, showcasing a grape variety that remains a staple across Eastern European wine culture, where it is commonly vinified into approachable, fruit-forward semi-sweet wines. Tasting Notes Aroma: The Isabella grape is well known for its unmistakable "foxy" labrusca character — expect pronounced ripe strawberry and wild raspberry aromatics, layered with a musky, slightly floral quality that distinguishes it from Vitis vinifera varieties. The nose is generous and immediately fruit-forward. Taste: On the palate, sweet berry fruit leads the entry, with strawberry and dark grape flavors dominating mid-palate. A natural residual sweetness typical of the Isabella style balances gentle acidity, giving the wine a soft, round mouthfeel without excessive heaviness. Finish: The finish is moderate in length with lingering berry and grape notes. A subtle musky quality characteristic of the Isabella grape carries through to the close. How to Drink Four Seasons Isabella Serve lightly chilled, between 14–16°C (57–61°F), to preserve aromatic intensity while keeping the sweetness in balance. Its semi-sweet profile also makes it a versatile ingredient for wine-based drinks. A classic Sangria benefits from Isabella's bold berry character, which holds up well against citrus and spice. A Wine Spritzer with sparkling water stretches the fruit-forward notes into a refreshing warm-weather drink. A Mulled Wine in cooler months draws out the grape's inherent spice and musk, pairing naturally with cinnamon and clove.
