A healthy young Foxtail palm (Wodyetia bifurcata), around 20 cm tall (measured from base of the plant), ready to be planted out or kept potted as an indoor specimen.Foxtail palms are known for their lush, feathery fronds and smooth, self-cleaning trunk. They give off a really striking tropical look and make a great feature plant. They like full sun, free-draining soil, and prefer warm, frost-free conditions — best suited to Northland, Auckland, Bay of Plenty, or a sheltered coastal spot. Not the most cold-hardy palm, so not ideal for frosty areas unless you're keeping it in a pot you can move to protect. These palms are quite uncommon in New Zealand and very rarely found at standard garden centres, so perfect for the palm collector or if you’re wanting something a bit different for your garden.
