One full 1kg (2.2lbs) bag of fresh frozen certified organic green plums from Japan. Organically grown in Usuki, located in the southern part of Oita Prefecture. Absolutely no use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides. When grown in such a natural environment, there is a higher chance of plums being eaten or infested by insects which will quickly spread over to all the trees nearby. It's safe to say the farm puts a great amount of time and effort into growing these green plums without the use of pesticides. Enjoy these naturally grown plums that hold their original flavor like no other. These green plums are unripe and cannot be eaten raw, therefore we recommend using them to make plum wine (umeshu), plum juice, plum mirin or plum jam. Freezing green plums changes the internal structure and actually makes them juicier compared to room-temperature stored plums. By using these frozen green plums, plum wine or plum juice can be made efficiently in a much shorter time. Packed right after picking, so we advise giving them a quick rinse with water before using them. To ensure that the trees do not exceed their natural capacity for sustainable production, organic matter is used as compost, which is naturally converted into soil.
