Frangipani Absolute opens with intoxicating exotic florality—heady, creamy, and immediately evocative of warm tropical nights. Soft peachy facets mingle with sweet orange blossom c haracter, while gardenia-like richness adds opulent depth. Balsamic undertones of almond and vanilla emerge in the drydown, creating a complete floral portrait that feels both delicate and seductive. This precious absolute comes from Plumeria alba flowers, harvested between March and April from shrubs native to the West Indies. The name itself tells a fascinating story: when a French colonist encountered plumeria in the Caribbean, its scent reminded him of a famous Renaissance perfume created by the Roman Frangipani family—making this the only plant named after a fragrance rather than the reverse. Blend with tropical fruits, coconut, tuberose, gardenia, and orange blossom for authentic compositions. The high benzyl salicylate and benzyl benzoate content provides natural fixative properties. Frangipani absolute has a wax-like consistency when pure, and so we also sell it diluted to 20% for ease of use. Both forms may still need a small amount of gentle heat for full solubility. Show more
