It's from the same farm and has a similar overall vibe to Marshy Park, so if you liked that coffee you'll love this one too. Sweet, clean funk, sticky, complex goodness. ABOUT THE GOOD PERSON ON THE BAG: So Marshy Park was actually supposed to be called Frankie, but Frankie wanted his son to be involved. Marshy Park is the name given to Parkside due to the marshmallows that come with babycinos.Frankie has always been a sort of North Star for me as I've gone further down the roasting rabbit hole. He always has great, considered feedback and it a helpful person to bounce ideas off. Seeing as his son completely took over the last releases name and colours, when another coffee from Luis Anibal crossed my path that tasted similar, I knew this one had to have Frankie's name on it. Frankie himself is an amazing father, friend, french horn player, self-declared "not a real Italian", and a relatively okay cyclist. THE GOOD PEOPLE BEHIND THE COFFEE: Luis is a Huila Best Cup 2016 top 30 finalist. He was given a very small lot as a gift from his father, and, since then, has been expanding and applying better methods of processing techniques. Coffee has changed the style of his life: He and his family work together as a team to run the farm. He collects only ripe cherries, ferments dry for 25 hours, then moves the coffee to his parabolic dryer for an average of 25 days. This particular coffee is a 'Microlot'. Colombian microlots are sourced basis cup quality, and are both the highest-quality and one of the highest price tier of the coffees Cafe Imports sources from this country. The cup must achieve 87+ points and is separated out based on its particular specs, whether it is a farmer-specific or a variety-specific lot. These are highly traceable coffees.
