Released in 1976, "Freaky Friday" is a Walt Disney fantasy comedy directed by Gary Nelson and starring Barbara Harris, Jodie Foster and John Astin. Based on Mary Rodgers’ novel, the story follows a constantly bickering mother and teenage daughter who mysteriously exchange bodies on Friday the 13th and are forced to confront the pressures of each other’s lives. The film became one of Disney’s best-loved live-action comedies of the 1970s and established the enduring screen premise that inspired multiple later remakes. Harris and Foster both received Golden Globe nominations, while the picture’s combination of physical comedy, family conflict and genuine affection has kept it popular with successive generations. This original US one-sheet was issued for the film’s 1977 theatrical campaign.
