Tulips and Freesias are my favourite flowers. I honestly felt as if I could smell the painting. A very weird sensation! Their delicate form lends themselves to watercolour interpre tation, along with the glass reflections of the stems in the vase. To create a more balanced composition I added fallen flowers onto the table. The purple tulips, being a complimentary colour to yellow, are to create a perfect palette for this vivacious painting. ‘Where’s my signature spattering’ I ask myself? However, the rainbow-like background gives the painting the unity that is needed and emphasises the lost and found table. The mount and frame together create a harmonious feeling to this delicate watercolour. Show more
