Featuring both tuberose absolutes and an enfleurage of tuberose from flowers grown organically by Matière Premiere itself, French Flower puts its money when its mouth is. This is full-figured, lush tuberose perfume that doesn’t stint on the quality or quantity of tuberose. It is also, refreshingly, a tuberose perfume that is unafraid to be anything other than what it is – a full-on, fleshy explosion of quivering white floral sensuality. A touch of Nigerian ginger adds a powdery, pallid spiciness to the candied sweetness of the tuberose but doesn’t even attempt to hem it in. There are hints also of Chinese tea leaf and pear to send a thread of bitterness or greenery running through all that buttery voluptuousness. A woody, almost aquatic musk adds a cooling tinge of freshness and expansion around the edges. But mostly it is all about Queen Tuberose.
