Freshly Harvested Baby Ginger from The Farm on Central! We're excited to share our fresh baby ginger. Unlike its mature counterpart, baby ginger boasts a softer skin, milder flavor, and a less fibrous texture, making it a heartwarming and gentle addition to your culinary creations. Although not certified organic, our ginger is grown without using any synthetic chemicals. It's important to us to grow food that is clean and safe to eat, and that means we grow without harmful pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides. To make sure our produce is as good as can be, we use compost, Biochar, rock dusts, and prebiotics to fuel the soil and encourage beneficial insects, bees, and earthworms. As a regenerative farm, it's our goal to work with nature to produce the best food possible! NOTE: this ginger is for culinary use only and not appropriate to use for seed. We will have seed ginger available in 2027. A Few Reasons to Love Our Baby Ginger: Tenderly Grown: Cultivated with a gentle touch, sans certification, but big on organic practices. Soft and Mild: Less spicy, with a delicate texture, ideal for fresh dishes, but also for making fire ciders and processing. Versatile Buddy: Perfect for various family-friendly dishes and delightful beverages. Sushi Ginger (gari): If you've ever had sushi ginger, it's typically made with baby ginger roots like these as opposed to mature ginger. (Mature ginger is much tougher.) You can slice and pickle our baby ginger to create your own gari at home. Our baby ginger is a seasonal treasure, available from now until the end of November (as long as we have it in stock!). Ideas to Enjoy Baby Ginger: Grate into stir-fries and soups for a mild, warming spice. Blend into smoothies or homemade popsicles. Make a soothing, sweet-spiced tea, perfect for cozy evenings. Simmer with sugar to make a delicious ginger syrup. Keeping Your Ginger: Baby ginger is best stored in the fridge. It will last around 2 weeks before you should dry it or pop it into the freezer. In the freezer, it will last months; just grate some off for your next recipe! Additional Notes: Packaging: Our ginger is carefully packed with an ice pack to preserve its freshness from our farm to your table. Address Accuracy: Ensure your shipping address is accurate at checkout. The Farm on Central cannot be held responsible for orders delivered to incorrect addresses provided by the customer.
