Contains 500gr per pack Approximately 22 tortillas of 14cm / or 26 tortillas of 12cm / or 35 tortillas of 10cm These tortillas are made from wholegrain corn kernels which undergo the ancient nixtamalization process. After this the corn is stoneground by volcanic grinding stones to achieve a soft and flexible masa (corn dough). This is the base for our Nixtamaíz fresh corn tortillas. Santa Rosalia blue corn At the feet of El Nevado de Toluca volcano in Estado de México (or Xinantécatl) lays the small town of Calimaya. Here is where our supplying farmer Cuquita Muciño cultivates her Santa Rosalia blue corn variety on an altitude of 2700 meters. The soil in this area is extremely fertile due to the volcanic ground and the fresh water springs coming down from the volcano. Santa Rosalia blue corn has adapted to the rather chilly climate and contains a high concentration of antioxidants. The corn has a grassy and floral aroma and gives a soft and very tasty tortilla.
