The Fretz SRM Spinner Ring Set gives jewelers and metalsmiths everything needed to create professional two-piece spinner rings with clean, symmetrical flared edges. The set comprises two purpose-built components that work together to flare ring band edges and lock a spinning band in place — a technique that requires precision and the right tooling to execute consistently. The process begins with the SRM-1 concave curved stamping mandrel, which is used to flare one edge of the wider band at a time. By counting hammer blows on the first side and repeating the same number on the second, you maintain symmetry across the flare. Once one side is flared, the narrower spinner ring is slipped over the non-flared end of the wider band. The mandrel is then used again to flare the remaining edge, locking the spinner ring permanently in place. The SRB-1 two-hole faced steel block supports the ring during the flaring process, allowing the mandrel to pass cleanly through the ring while it is being worked with a stamping hammer. Together, these two tools make spinner ring fabrication repeatable and precise.
