Producer: Al Di La Del Fiume Region: Emilia-Romagna, Italy Grapes: Albana Danila’s Fricandò is an amphora fermented and macerated Albana, grown on the slopes of the Apennine Mountains. This ancient, almost unknown thick-skinned grape is native to the Bologna region just north of Marzabotto and is named after thecolor of the grapes—’albus’ means white in Latin. It is also known as Elbing in Germany.The 2020 was destemmed, then added to terracota vessels and spent 2 months on the skins in Tuscan terracota amphorae.
