Entirely made by hand in a manner of slow fashion, this bag is composed of fringed indigo dyed cotton mudcloth from West Africa, vibrant blue-green linen lining, genuine cowhide vegetable tanned leather and brass hardware. Featuring a double/divided front pocket and two interior pockets with the same indigo fabric as the exterior, contrasted with the vibrancy of the linen. Made With Morehart is a bag collection made completely by hand by our founder, featuring handpicked one-of-a-kind mudcloth imported from West Africa. By repurposing this traditional woven material and turning it into a tote, the artisan trade of mudcloth fabric is supported and one of the oldest forms a natural dying (indigo) is preserved. CARE & CLEANING: Because of the nature of mudcloth, each bag is designed around the uniqueness of each individual cloth. The cloth is handmade in West Africa and sewn together in strips and therefore may have slight imperfections, bumps, knots or even holes. We see this as the beauty in a truly handmade item. With use, overtime the bag may develop these "imperfections" more - we recommend simply patching with blue thread if necessary. Or, you can send the bag back to us for patch up work if needed. Spot clean with cold water when necessary. If a deeper clean is needed, we recommend lightly handwashing and air drying or dry cleaning.
