Fructone is an extremely useful aromachemical when recreating fruity accords. It has a sweet fruity odour which sits somewhere between apple and strawberry and is useful when makin g either of those accords in particular. It's used extensively by master perfumer Jean Claude Ellena in his illustrative fruit accord sketches in his books; Diary of a Nose, and Perfume: The Alchemy of Scent. To the perfumer here at The Fragrance Foundry, fructone represents a general sweet fruity base which can be taken in any direction with specific additions to create the desired fruity accord.
