Okay so this one's a bit different to our usual offerings if I'm honest. Most of the cakes we do are quite... adult? Sophisticated? Whatever word you wanna use. They're the sort of thing grown ups have with coffee and go "mmm this is rather lovely" which is fine obviously. Love those cakes. But sometimes you just want something FUN. That's where this one comes in. Someone actually requested this for a kid's birthday party. They messaged and said their little girl wanted something "bright and fruity" and not chocolate because apparently half the class doesn't like chocolate which I still find baffling but alright. So I had a think. Messed about with some flavours. Got my niece involved for taste testing duties. And eventually landed on this. It's vanilla sponge mostly. Nice and light. Fluffy. But then we soak it. Not loads. Just enough. With this proper fruity syrup that makes the whole thing taste like... well like fruit punch really. Like the stuff you'd drink at parties as a kid but in cake form. Between the layers we've got this light fruity buttercream. Not too sweet. Slightly tangy. And then we go in with the decoration which honestly is the best bit. We're talking bright colours. Sprinkles. Sometimes edible glitter if I'm feeling extra. Whatever makes it look like a party on a plate. The cake itself is naturally white/cream coloured but we usually tint it pink or orange or something fun. Or leave it plain and go mad with the topping. Up to you really. When you order just let me know what vibe you're after. Who's buying this one? Kids' birthdays. Obviously. Goes down very well with the under-10 crowd. Grown ups having retro parties. Had a 30th birthday order last month where the theme was literally "90s kids party" and this fit perfectly. Honestly anyone who's bored of chocolate and vanilla and wants something different. Someone ordered it for a summer barbecue which I thought was genius actually. But if you want something light and fun and different? Yeah. This is your cake. Right. That's the fruit punch one done. Bright. Fun. Tastes like childhood sort of.
