Fruiting loquat trees are selected specifically for their ability to produce abundant, flavorful fruit while still offering year-round ornamental value. These evergreen trees featu re large, glossy leaves, fragrant spring flowers, and clusters of golden-orange fruit that mature from late winter to early spring. Well suited to California’s mild coastal and inland climates, fruiting loquats perform best in areas with minimal frost and well-drained soil. Compared to ornamental loquats, fruiting varieties are known for larger fruit size, improved sweetness, and more consistent yields, making them ideal for home orchards and edible landscapes. In addition to fruit production, fruiting loquat trees serve as attractive specimen trees or evergreen accents. Their dense canopy provides structure and visual interest throughout the year while rewarding growers with an early-season harvest. Show more
