The Full Moon Project Bag sewing pattern is by Kristine the co-owner of Verb. She writes: The moon—a shifting, but nevertheless constant in our lives, counting days, weeks, months, and years. I find it helpful to look at the moon, to remind myself of my connection with the earth and nature. The simple relationship between our daily lives and the cycles of the moon gives reassurance. To create the moon on this project bag, I used a piece of acrylic cut in the shape of a circle, clamped the circle to a piece of fabric, and then dyed it with indigo. Once the dyeing is completed, the deep blue of the indigo is reminiscent of the night sky, the white circle, an emulation of the moon shining through the darkness. A simple drawstring bag is endlessly helpful; whether to use to carry a knitting project or your lunch. This simple, hand-stitched bag could be easily made out of any number of colors and fabrics. Embroidered circles grace the back of the project bag, but improvisation is always welcome. Perhaps there is an embroidery pattern of your own you would like to try.
